People forget the Patriots have a defense until they defense all over the Bengals' offense. Polk/Pop 6 catches each, Mondre breaks off a 35-yard rushing score

Bold Prediction: Someone actually returns a kickoff.

The Bengals are without one of their top WRs and their top WR is a bit hobbled. Game one is always a toss up as so many things won't work until we actually see it plan out. Look for struggles on the O-line for the Pats and D-line. I see Maye stepping in at some point if it's a blow out.
Bengals win 23-21
Bold Prediction: Maye comes in the third quarter so 8 TD Brisset gets a chance to rest his Herculean arm.

Back to reality. NE OL will have Herculean struggles with the bengals pass rush. The patriots back end will struggle to contain burrow et al, as the bengals give their franchise QB time to step into throws from the pocket. The masses start calling to throw the rookie into the lion's den immediately.

Are the pats actually going to win? No... am i going to pick them every week anyway? yes. After hearing for the last year how much they suck, the team actually puts together enough of a successful effort to come away with the win by stopping the bengals on a last minute drive in the 4th q.

Until I see the offense gel, I can't give them more than 10-14 points per game right now. It all depends on the O-line and with its current state, 7 or less points by the Pats is possible. With the Bengals a bit banged up, the Pats have an outside shot of winning.
